Daria Gosa was 16 years old and still in school. She says she received a private message on Instagram from celebrity influencer Andrew Tate, who is almost 20 years her senior.
"It was written in Romanian and added flirty emojis," Daria said. "I'm confused because I have 200 followers and it's a private account."
She was one of two teenagers who told the BBC how Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan contacted her online.
"It was obvious we were in high school," Daria said. “Our bio included high school and everything. I think he was trying to find girls that I thought were innocent or naive."
He showed us a screenshot of a message he never responded to. But he says some of his friends do.
Daria, who is currently studying at a university in England, is the daughter of a prominent Romanian politician. You can speak publicly on the recording if others refuse to do so.
The Tate brothers are currently in Romanian custody for 30 days while police investigate allegations of rape and kidnapping, which they deny.
In a video posted online, Andrew Tate appears to teach others how to connect with women on social media.
"In my experience, anything that sparks interest and gets them to respond is ... I ask where they are," he says in the recording.
"Sometimes, out of curiosity, I end up with a completely silly emoji: a cherry, an orange, or a strawberry."
Dalia says many young men have accused her of lying since she shared her experience.
"Even kids I knew in high school called me a liar when they got a text from Andrew Tate," he told me.
She says many men her own age adore 36-year-old Andrew Tate. "It's a big problem because we're not going to wake up with two million Andrew Tates in 20 years," he told me.
In advertising his online courses on the manipulation and exploitation of women, Andrew Tate said: “I've run a web studio for over ten years... In that time over 50% of my employees have been my girlfriends. My friends, no one grew up before meeting. Not in entertainment."
Describing his job, he says: “Get a girl, go away for a few days, sleep with her… fall in love with me enough to do what I say,” the ad says, “and get her . We can get rich together with a webcam."
He previously said he would never date a woman over 25. Gabriella (not her real name) was 17 when Andrew Tate's brother Tristan contacted her on social media and later pretended to be 19.
She asked to be called Gabriela to hide her identity. He showed me his first message, which read, "You're beautiful."
"I know he does this to other women," she said. "He always starts the conversation with the same perfect sentence: 'You're beautiful.'
Gabriella said her friend received the same first message from Tristan Tate. Andrew Tate says in his online video that "You're Beautiful" is a good start, describing it as a "perfect example" of dialogue.
After determining where the woman is, Mr. Tate advises the men to ask her, “Why have I never seen you? Where are you hiding?" "99% of them say [they're] not hiding anything," he says in the recording.
Apparently, it happened during the exchange with Gabriela. In screenshots of their alleged conversation with Tristan Tate, Andrew describes his message as saying: “I think I saw you somewhere in town. Possible? Where are you hiding?" Maybe," Gabriela replied. "I'm not hiding". Gabriela invited him into her car and invited him to a party, but he declined. Screenshots of their conversation show that the conversation ended abruptly after she posted a video on social media.
“Important people won't want to write to you if they see you doing this. Friendly warning,” one of his last messages says
It is not illegal for Tate Brothers to contact or solicit a 16 or 17 year old girl online. But the testimonies of these young women, along with Andrew Tate's online comments, suggest a deliberate method of outreach. The BBC has seen footage that appears to support the women's claims. The message appears to be from a category that matches the username Andrew and Tristan Tate were using before they were banned from the app. However, the BBC cannot independently verify the authenticity of the messages, nor can it determine whether the messages were sent by Andrew and Tristan Tate themselves or by someone working on their behalf. I could not do it. The BBC made these claims through Tate Brothers' lawyers and asked for their response. Social media updates continue to appear on Andrew Tate's account during his incarceration. Five people, including a 22-year-old American influencer named Adin Roth, who has millions of followers, said they flew to Romania on Thursday to meet him in custody. I wrote that I can do that. No charges have been filed against the Tate brothers. Her 30-day detention, which began after her arrest at the end of December, was extended on Friday until the end of February. The charges against her for all the video confessions and comments about her personal life are unproven. The evidence against them is – for now – hidden from the public
